Q1. Steps to generate Thermal effect on the board
To display thermal effect on the board, follow the steps
shown below.
1. First step is to compile the *.DAT to *.Tal files using
Library compiler.
2. Now select Library viewer from Main menu Library and load required *.TAL files. Note:
Once you set these files, these files automatically gets loaded whenever the database is
opened.
3. Set the colors using the tool Setup colors for display of temperatures
which is helpful in displaying a colored board. Each color represents a range of
temperatures.
4. Now click Execute Thermal analysis tool. This displays the Isotherms
indicating the thermal effect on the board. The various temperature on the board may be
labeled using the tool Set/ delete isotherm temperature label.
5. To display the temperature distribution on the board, select colored board from the
drop down of View. The message box Temp on the parameter window shows the
temperature at the point where the cursor is positioned.
Q2. Steps to generate
Electromagnetic field intensity on the board.
To display field effect on the board, follow the steps
shown below.
1. Select Electrical net parameters function tool which
pops up a dialog box. Add the nets after assigning the voltage and frequency values.
2. Set the colors using the tool Setup colors for display of temperatures.
This tool allows to map a set of colors to a set of fields intensity in order that after
analysis the electromagnetic field intensity may be visually displayed on the screen.
3. Now click Execute Electromagnetic analysis tool. This displays the Isolines
indicating the field intensity on the board. The fields intensity on the board may be
labeled using the tool Set/ delete isolines field label.
4. To display the field intensity on the board, select colored board from the drop down of
View. The message box Field on the parameter window shows the field at the
point where the cursor is positioned.
