Fault/Bug in Fabrication manager

Postby TLEC » Thu Jun 17, 2010 1:52 pm

When doing NC-Drill, PCB-Assembly and Bareboard testing files, there is no settings specifying where the files should go.
Hence, the output defaults to edwin installation folder.
The fabrication manager should default to the "project" folder or the settings entered for the Gerber-data.
ANother Bug is that when I type the path for the gerberfiles, it isnt used, it defaults back to the previous path used, one have to brovse for the folder.
It should also default to system units

Dear TLEC,

The file path is set by default to the JOB directory. Please find the attached image.

The file path for the NC-Drill, PCB-Assembly and Bareboard testing files can be set by the user himself while generating the file output.

This is how it has been for centuries. But please change it so that either:
- All files are stored to the folder you select in "location" or
- All files are default to the project folder. The EdWin oddity with a job folder is mor or less crap and out of date. Today most applications either points to My Documents, the last used folder or current project folder.

Hi,

The Path setting for EDWinXP Fabrication output is as below.

Default path when system is installed will be "EDWinXP\Job" folder.

1. There is a Common Location setting for Gerber Photoploter Data Generation. i.e. for Gerber Artworks and Gerber Mechanical Plots. You can set the path here. The changed path will be remembered by the system. The File names are generated by the File name prefix and a Layer number. This is important for EDWin to process different layer Data. So it doesn’t allow the user to give the file name.

2. NC Drill data, PCB Assembly output, Bare board testing can have individual File locations. Also it remembers the last path set. There is no setting of path as in the case of Gerber Photoploter Data Generation. But here user can give the file name as he/she Wish.

regards

I thought computers were made to simplify things, why cat you simply do as basically everybody else is doing, all paths defaults to current project-folder,

Furthermore, the more mouse-clicks I have to do, the more menues and dialogs I have to do, the less productive I get (not speaking of irritation  )

Please, Put all project search-paths in one single dialog (projekt options/settings or similar), that is valid for ALL funktions within the software. So one can set them one for all.

This is a bug I reported yesterday.

In Fab-mgr/ARtwork......
A mirrored layer does not stay mirrored after switching layers, as well as a printout always prints the layer un-mirrored.
Sometimes when selecting "mirrored" it does not mirror at all.

Dear TLEC,

The bug for the stated error (“In Fab-Manger, artwork and.... mirrored layout does not stay mirrored, switching between layers reverts mirroring, also not possible to print the layout mirrored”) has been fixed.
Please unzip and paste the attached dll to your EDWinXP 1.80 installation folder and check for the update.

E2KLAYPS.zip

You can take the print out of mirrored layout from Print Manager -> Properties of the Layer Page -> Enable Mirror.
