Exploring complex digital simulations

Postby arcturus » Wed Mar 31, 2010 2:16 pm

Hi all,

let's assume I need to simulate a bunch of digital signals, with substantial time differences (e.g. 10 us pulses, some related counters, together with slow state changing outputs, in some way related to the previously described fast changing signals.

I would start to analyze the first stages, checking if what I designed is correct, by expanding the simulation window to recognize the 10 us pulses.

Let's again assume it's all ok, I would move the magnified window one step toward the simulation end to see the slow signals changes, but I can't find a way to do it without starting a new simulation.

So the request is: I would like to scroll the simulated signal from start to the end without simulating again (it should be possible, as the data have been previously stored somewhere by the simulator, with the correct resolution, as I can examine the pulses.

Is there any way?

Thank you
