is MixedModeSimulator working well ?

Mixed-Mode simulator has been developed by Visionics to handle simple digital gates to sophisticated emulator models of microcontrollers with inbuilt program code editors, compilers and debuggers. The forum discusses various design aspects of Mixed Mode Simulators from various users.

is MixedModeSimulator working well ?

Postby patard » Wed Dec 09, 2009 11:30 pm

Hello,

Is there anybody here able to tell me why Voltages of nets "OUT", "OUTPUT1" never go above 3V / 4 V?
Files projects are joined to this post.

I've tested these diagrams with other Spice simulators, and result is good, the same as I could see on my oscillograph measuring on the board. EdwinXP give me a result far away from reality....

I guess there is a problem, or ther something non functionning (again) in EwinXP ????

Don't tell me that is because there is A/D nets.... How do the other simulators?
Why no EdSpice model for 555 timer in Edwin Library?
Is it possible to import spice model in EdSpice?

Thank you for a quick and good answer.

Hello,

I bring new elements to my topic, that show there is a problem with MMS :
Test with EDSpice :
I import Spice subcircuit for LM555, I create .SBC file with SubCircuitAdapter. With 2 problems using this tool :
1-I can't type characters with keyboard in Details-description cells : I only can paste,
2- help file is not present : error message "Can't find C:\EDWinXP\E2KSBMPE.HLP......"
So, I could assign this subcircuit to my symbol "LM555_my", and then I could simulate : EdSpice gave me the same curves as my scope on my board, but completely different from the simulation with MixedModeSimulator : so, it shows there is a problem with MMS, or with the "-2000" MM Simulation function.

I joined my project, including versions MMS and version EDSpice, with transient analysis curves saved in it.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards.

Hello,

Is there something new mith my previous post, especially with LM555 simulation with MMS, or with the "-2000" MM Simulation function ?

Thank you.

HO! WHERE ARE YOU? NOBODY WANTS TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION ?

IT IS A BUG, DON'T SAY ME THAT IT WOULD BE SOLVED IN THE NEXT VERSION.... SO I WON'T BUY IT...

Dear Patard,

Currently, the output pin of 555 is designated as digital pin. Hence it outputs a digital result. It has to be converted to analog pin also programmatically so as to accommodate the analog result.

Hello,

So, if I understand, when a output pin is a logical one, only 5V Vcc is taken, with TTL specs? (Output is about 3.5V ~ Vcc - 2*VceSat...)

Could you tell me the way to create a 555 model with analog output from -2000 simulation model ?

Thank you.

Dear Patard,

The model has to be edited/changed by Visionics programmatically. The model is written in C language. Thus the code has to be rewritten. Hence it takes some time.
